Peter Conradin Zumthor and Vera Kappeler are creating a new piece for the Julier tower. A homage to the piano: «The music and the piano have survived all Russian-Soviet turmoil and re-education attempts. Not all pianos have lost their teeth. Not only the real destroyed church bells survived in the music but also the avant-garde ghost of the early years shimmered for a long time under the totalitarian surface.» Kappeler | Zumthor create music for a place far away from civilisation, which may be the culture palace and factory that allows both Awangarda and Noktjurn. Music in memory of the great Russian revolution and the countless pianos, that can stand for both history and individual fate. Music from the below, music up high. Music that pictures outer vibrations and inner feelings and thus instrumentally tells a story that evokes a diverse, subjectively experienced journey through time.
