The Hanover-born mezzo-soprano Alexandra Rawohl studied singing in Detmold with G. Romberger and T. Quasthoff and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with U. Messthaler and A. Scholl. Her active solo activities in concert and opera have taken her to the Handel Festival in Halle, the Bach Festival Leipzig, the Early Music Festival in Lviv, the Theater Basel, the Mainz Cathedral and the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow. Alexandra Rawohl is a freelancer for several vocal ensembles, such as the radio choirs of the BR and MDR, the Bach Foundation St. Gallen and the Ensemble Vocal Origen. She lives in Freiburg, where she works as a singing teacher at the local conservatory.
