Ariel Merkuri was born in 1995 in Tirana, Albania and started dancing at five years old. He completed his training at the National Ballet School of Albania (2006-2011), the Accademia Teatro alla Scala (2011-2014) and the Royal Danish Ballet (2014-2017). In the season 2017/18 Ariel Merkuri joined the Corps de ballet of the Bayerisches Staatsballet. In 2019 he was promoted to soloist.

Roles danced include: Soloist in «Affairs of the Heart» (D. Dawson), Benvolio in «Romeo and Juliet» (J. Cranko), Demetrius in «A Midsummer Night's Dream» (J. Neumeier), Summer Solo in «Cinderella» (C. Wheeldon), Fritz in «The Nutcracker» (J. Neumeier), Lewis Carroll / The white rabbit in «Alice´s Adventures in Wonderland» (C. Wheeldon), Soloist in «Jewels: Emeralds» (G. Balanchine), and as a dancer in «Kairos» and «Borderlands» (W. McGregor), «Sweet Bones' Melody» (M. Goecke), «Tchaikovsky Overtures» and «Pictures at an Exhibition» (A. Ratmansky).

At Origen he danced in «Tempo Rubato» (2023) by Dustin Klein in Riom Castle.
