CLAU SCHERRER

 

The native rhaetian studied piano concerto at the Vorarlberg state conservatory and graduated with distinction in 1999. He then completed his studies of piano and choral conducting at the university of Basel. As a young pianist he was already the recipient of several awards, including the prestigious Karajan-Award from the Eliette-von_karajan cultural fund. In 2009 he was awarded the prize of the SRG.R. He works as a pianist and conductor with various orchestras at home and abroad and is the conductor of the «Chor Viril Lumenzia» and the «Cantus Firmus Surselva» which was awarded the advancement prize of CRR in 2004. He is the musical director of the Origen Festival. In 2008 and 2010 he conducted the swiss youth choir. Since autumn 2008 he conducts at the monastery Disentis.
