Florian Sievers

The tenor Florian Sievers studied vocal performance with Prof. Berthold Schmid at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig and graduated with distinction in 2018. Today, he is in demand as a soloist beyond the borders of Germany, mainly in concert and oratorio. In addition, he has been engaged as guest in residence at the Chemnitz Opera since the 2019/2020 season.

In the 2018/2019 season he made his debut as Evangelist in Bach's St. Matthew Passion under Jordi Savall at the Paris Philharmonie, in Barcelona and Versailles. With the pianist Ragna Schirmer he performed Schubert Lieder in the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, and with the Lautten Compagney under Wolfgang Katschner at the Bach Festival Leipzig (Bach cantatas).

Florian Sievers was born in Hamburg and gained his first singing experiences with the Chorknaben Uetersen. He first studied school music before going to Leipzig to study singing, where he now works with the Leipzig Bach Festival, the Gewandhaus Orchestra and Choir and the St. Thomas Boys Choir.

Florian Sievers has participated in various CD and radio recordings. In 2020 a highly acclaimed complete solo recording of St. John Passion (J. S. Bach, 1725) with the ensembles Aelbgut and Wunderkammer was released by Coviello Classics.
