MARTIN LEUTHOLD
After completing an apprenticeship as an embroidery designer, he has worked at the Jakob Schlaepfer textile company since 1973. In 1989 he became a member of the management board and was responsible for the creation division. In St. Gallen, he designs fabrics for the world's great fashion designers. With his exclusive fabric creations, he plays a decisive role in determining what will be the new fashion trend of tomorrow. He made a name for himself with the innovative use of metallic yarns in textile fabrics. Martin Leuthold has received the Swiss Design Award and the renowned American Cotton Design Award for his textile creations. In 2004, he designed the «Bling Bling» exhibition at the National Museum in Zurich for the company's 100th anniversary. Since 2009 he has been advising the Origen Festival Cultural on textile issues.
