PRINCE CREDELL

 

Prince Credell is originally from Bronx, NY, United States and dances with Netherlands Dance Theater (2013). He is also an artist in residence at Ace Dance Concept, a collective focused on delivering dance workshops, action film experience and immersive theater to students, audiences and communities. The culmination of these endeavors premiered as installation performances at Éléphant Paname (Paris) and Zet Pe Te (Krakov). Credell has also served on the faculty of The Ailey School, the Lines Ballet School and the Lines Ballet Discovery Project.

 

In the past Prince danced with Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève (2008), Hubbard Street Dance Chicago (2006), and Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet (2002). Between 2002 and 2009 he assisted the re- staging of King's works on repertory companies (Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Ballet Béjart Lausanne), as well as appeared in films which premiered in the Lincoln Center Film Festival (2005), and Lincoln Center Dance on Camera Festival (2008).

 

Prince received the Isadora Duncan Dance Award (2006) and the Princess Grace Award (2003). His early dance training includes The Ailey School, and the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts. Prince’s training concluded at the San Francisco Ballet School before joining Ailey II (2001).

 

At the Origen Festival he was dancing in Luca-Andrea Tessarini's «Elements» (2020) and assisting Thiago Bordin in «Ore to a March»(2023).
