SACRÉ and PARADOX

SACRÉ

The Japanese dancer Yuka Oishi reinterprets Stravinskys infamous “Sacre du printemps” – the very scandalous piece that was created by Vaslav Nijinsky for the Ballets Russes in 1913. On stage will be just one legendary dancer, Sergei Polunin. The Solo is inspired by Nijinskys demand for a “feeling, not thinking Human”, by master pieces of the Art Brut, by the essence of rebellion.

PARADOX

Oishis second Piece “Paradox” takes place in Nijinskys brain, a “dance of neurons, abstract, desperate, full of obsessions. The piece is interpreted by two dancers of the Nederlans Dans Theater: Luca-Andrea Tessarini from Switzerland and Jon Bond from the USA.
