The baritone Tobias Wicky received his first musical education at the Knabenkantorei Basel before studying at the Hochschule für Musik Basel with Marcel Boone. At the same time he deepened his knowledge of historical performance practice at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Rosa Dominguez. The young baritone performs intensively in concerts at home and abroad. He is particularly interested in the song and oratorio repertoire. Since 2016 he has formed a permanent duo with the pianist Maki Wiederkehr, who regularly give concerts together. In addition to his solo activities as a concert singer, the young baritone is a member of several professional vocal formations such as the Ensemble Orlando Fribourg, the Collegium Vocale Gent and the Bach Foundation St. Gallen, where he regularly performs as a soloist. In 2012 he founded the Ensemble Voces Suaves. Important performances take Voces Suaves to many important festivals throughout Europe. The various CD recordings have been awarded several international prizes.
