The Legend originated in Zurich: Emperor Charles is holding court, and he condemns a toad to death by fire, for the unrightful occupation of a snake's nest. The judgement is executed immediately. The white snake shows its gratitude with a magnificent gift: Charles receives a precious jewel with amorous powers.

The legend is freely reinterpreted by Origen's Commedia dell'Arte Company, directed by Fabrizio Pestilli. A lively show in a wild mix of languages that travels through the vallexs of Grisons and Ticinio and, of course, to Zurich, where once upon a time a toad found its untimely end.
