YAGMUR ATAGÜ

 

Yağmur Atagür, born in Istanbul in 1997, is a freelance violist. In 2008 she began her studies at the Mimar Sinan State Conservatory of the Arts. There she gained various orchestral experiences with youth orchestras, as well as with the National Youth Philharmonic Orchestra of Turkey. During this time, she played concert tours in Germany, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic and performed in concert halls such as the Prague Smetana Hall and the Konzerthaus Berlin.

In 2015 she was accepted to the class of Prof. Anna Kreetta Gribajcevic at the Hamburg University of Music and Drama. In Hamburg Yağmur gained valuable orchestral experience with the NDR Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Junge Norddeutsche Philharmonie, the Hamburg Camerata, the Neue Philharmonie Hamburg and the Hanse Philharmonie and performed in the Laeiszhalle and the Elbphilharmonie.

Besides classical music she has a great passion for jazz. In 2018 she played in the album «For you» produced by jazz drummer Wolfgang Schlüter under the direction of Wolf Kerschek. Since 2020 she is a permanent member of the Fabia Mantwill Orchestra.

 

At the Origen Festival she accompanied Craig Davidson's «Existentia» (2020) with the violin.
